Join our staff, friends, and family on Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 9:00am - 1:00pm in volunteering time to plant and nurture trees at Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx, NY.
Eight years ago, the city launched MillionTreesNYC with an ambitious goal: to plant and care for one million new trees across the city. The benefits to be gained were clear: improved air and water quality; reduced pollution from storm water runoff, flooding and erosion; and reduced energy costs, to name a few. But MillionTreesNYC is just the first step in enhancing and preserving New York City's urban forest. Tree care and stewardship are the next critical steps to ensuring the survival of our urban forest. Since 2007, we have come a long way towards reaching our goal of planting one million trees, and we are confident that we will get there. We invite you to join us this fall and plant trees in Pelham Bay Park on November 21!
